At Home in Belgrade: Archpriest Andrew Lemeshonok Visited Serbia

The Serbian people met Archpriest Andrew Lemeshonok, the spiritual father of St Elisabeth Convent, with love. Father Andrew visited this country within the frameworks of From Heart To Heart Festival organised by our Convent.

His visit lasted for just one day (October 24). Nevertheless, Father Andrew managed to meet His Holiness Irinej, the Patriarch of Serbia; celebrate a service in the Convent in honour of the he Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple; talk with the nuns of that convent; give several big interviews; and answer the questions of the visitors of From Heart To Heart Festival.

The conversation with Father Andrew at the Festival followed the traditional format: an inquirer would write his question on a sheet of paper and pass the note to Father Andrew; Father Andrew would reply to that question, and the reply was translated into Serbian. Our nuns admitted that this meeting resembled the usual meetings with parishioners, which Father Andrew holds in our Convent every Tuesday. The grateful Serbian audience spent over four hours with Father Andrew. More than three hundred people turned up for the event. The visitors left the meeting hall comforted and happy. They also thanked Father Andrew for coming all the way down to Serbia.

Our sisters had published three books by Father Andrew translated into Serbian for this festival. The books were collectively titled "Questions People Ask"; they are part of Words of The Spiritual Father book series, based on talks and sermons of Archpriest Andrew Lemeshonok. That is why not just the audience of the Festival but also many other Serbs will hopefully be able to find answers to their questions in the warm, simple, and inspiring words of our spiritual father.
