19 Children with Special Needs Baptized with the Help of the Clergy and Sisterhood of St. Elisabeth Convent
The residents of the boarding home for children with
special needs (organic damage of nervous system and mind) have been baptized
recently. On January 13, Priest Rodion Alhovik performed the sacrament of
Baptism and baptized 19 children of various age. This was made possible, in
large measure, by the help of the brothers who live on the territory of the Men’s
Rehabilitation Center of St. Elisabeth Convent.
The brothers, the sisters of mercy, the workers of the
Boarding Home and the soldiers and officers of one of the Minsk military units
became the spiritual fathers for the baptized children.
The inhabitants of the Boarding Home are orphaned
children, children who have lost their parents and children who have special
needs in their physical and mental development. Today the facility has a need
in people who can help in looking after children. To solve this issue, the tutors
of the Boarding Home have asked our brothers for help. On this moment,
volunteers are sought on the page of the Men’s Rehabilitation Site in a social
networking site.
