An atheist came
to an elder and started telling him that he didn’t believe in God. He just
couldn’t buy the idea of a Creator who made the whole Universe.
A couple of days later, the wise elder paid a visit to the atheist’s place and brought a splendid painting with him. The atheist was thrilled. He had never seen a more perfect masterpiece.
“What a nice picture! Who painted it? Who’s the author?”
“No one. There was a clean canvas and some paints on a shelf above the canvas. The paints spilled over, and here is the result.”
“Are you kidding me?” the atheist laughed. “It’s impossible: it’s an excellent work of art with precise contours, brush strokes, and color combinations. I can sense the deep meaning of this picture behind the glorious artwork. I don’t think it could be possible without an author.”
The wise man smiled and said:
“You are unable to believe that this small picture appeared at random, without a plan. But you want me to believe that this wonderful world of ours, with its forests and mountains, oceans and valleys, changes of seasons, glorious sunsets and quiet moonlit nights emerged randomly, without a Creator’s plan?”
