Parable of the Day: Seeing Nothing but Yourself
Someone asked an elderly priest:
“Why are the poor more inclined to help others than
the rich?”
“Look through the window. What can you see?”
“I see trees, a car, and children playing in the
street…”
“Now look in the mirror,” the priest continued. “What
can you see?”
“I can’t see anything but myself.”
The priest concluded in an earnest voice, “You see,
both the window and the mirror are made of glass but the glass in the mirror is
dusted with some silver powder.”
